Second Round Match ups

Personally, I think that teams like Vancouver, New Jersey, and Buffalo that either revolve around great goaltending, amazing defensive minded forwards, and an explosive team with amazing speed, it equals a Stanley Cup.

But lets take a look at the other teams:

Anaheim- A team that takes there offensive players seriously. Selanee, Getzlaf, McDonald, Pronger, Niedermayer, and even players like Francois Beauchemin to name a few. Around a goalie who has proven himself in the playoffs before, they look like a quiet team making a stealthy run to the finals.

New York- Wow, really, I honestly believe this team will be ANNIHILATED in the next round. But, they have offense, they have depth, all their lines can score, their defense can shut down plays, and their Swedish goalie looks like he can really make Buffalo intimidated when it comes to scoring. Along with some grit by guys like Sean Avery, they'll oughta' be doing all right.

Detroit- Quiet, nearly going down in the quarter finals to a sluggish Calgary offense, the only quiet aspect of the Red Wings, outshooting Calgary massively in the first round, and bouncing back from a nasty slash to score an OT winner in game 6 to wrap up the series. Backed up by a veteran goalie, and defense, this team looks ready to take the title again

San Jose- The sharks have scoring power, they have shut down lines, and have two-way defensemen. Their goalie has been spectacular all year, this team just has to keep doing what they are doing.

Ottawa- Extremely powerful offense, Heatley, Spezza, and Alfredsson have been stellar so far in the playoffs. Depth and scoring from Neil, Fisher, Vermette, Simon, and an amazing shut down defense, led by shot blocking Anton Volchenkov and Andrej Meszaros, even with Chara gone.

I think any team has a fair chance in this year's final dance.
