Don't believe what you see, it's not as bad as you think

Popular culture and the media have a grip in the lives of everyone in modern times, and sometimes people take what these sources say too seriously. The way the media portrays fast food recently in movies, books, and other sources has been very derogatory.

For instance, take the movie Supersize Me. This movie is a documentary which is trying to prove that McDonald’s™ food is extremely unhealthy and should not be eaten. The director did this by eating McDonald’s™ at every meal every day for one month. There are some flaws with this theory. First of all, eating anything for a long period of time without any other food in your diet will certainly derive your body of nutrients that other foods offer. Second of all, if this experiment was supposed to prove the effects McDonald’s™ food has on someone in the long term, some controls were not met. One is that people would be able to exercise and have a more balanced diet throughout one year than they would in one month.

To sum up, the media gives fast food a bad name. Obviously any diet which consists of one specific food will not give your body a benefit, but if fast food, like any other food, is eaten in moderation, and does not include high-fat products such as mayonnaise, or high concentrations of salt, it would do your body good to eat a meal which consists of four food groups.

Second Round Match ups

Personally, I think that teams like Vancouver, New Jersey, and Buffalo that either revolve around great goaltending, amazing defensive minded forwards, and an explosive team with amazing speed, it equals a Stanley Cup.

But lets take a look at the other teams:

Anaheim- A team that takes there offensive players seriously. Selanee, Getzlaf, McDonald, Pronger, Niedermayer, and even players like Francois Beauchemin to name a few. Around a goalie who has proven himself in the playoffs before, they look like a quiet team making a stealthy run to the finals.

New York- Wow, really, I honestly believe this team will be ANNIHILATED in the next round. But, they have offense, they have depth, all their lines can score, their defense can shut down plays, and their Swedish goalie looks like he can really make Buffalo intimidated when it comes to scoring. Along with some grit by guys like Sean Avery, they'll oughta' be doing all right.

Detroit- Quiet, nearly going down in the quarter finals to a sluggish Calgary offense, the only quiet aspect of the Red Wings, outshooting Calgary massively in the first round, and bouncing back from a nasty slash to score an OT winner in game 6 to wrap up the series. Backed up by a veteran goalie, and defense, this team looks ready to take the title again

San Jose- The sharks have scoring power, they have shut down lines, and have two-way defensemen. Their goalie has been spectacular all year, this team just has to keep doing what they are doing.

Ottawa- Extremely powerful offense, Heatley, Spezza, and Alfredsson have been stellar so far in the playoffs. Depth and scoring from Neil, Fisher, Vermette, Simon, and an amazing shut down defense, led by shot blocking Anton Volchenkov and Andrej Meszaros, even with Chara gone.

I think any team has a fair chance in this year's final dance.
